About Skyvern

What it is

Skyvern automates browser tasks using vision models to read the page. Instead of being told which element to click by a selector, it looks at what is on screen and works it out, so one instruction can work across sites it has not seen before.

Why it's different

Reading the page visually is what makes it more durable than traditional browser automation, where a redesign breaks a script that referred to an element by name. That is a real improvement on the most tedious failure mode in this space. It is slower and costs more per run than a selector-based script, because every step involves a model, and it is not immune to change so much as more tolerant of it. It is a developer tool, with self-hosting as the main path.

How people use it

Filling in forms across many different sites. Automating processes on sites you do not control and cannot predict. Replacing brittle scripts that break every few weeks. Extracting data from varied layouts. Keep a selector-based script for the handful of pages that never change, because paying a model to look at a stable form is waste.
