What it is
Langflow is a visual builder for language model applications. You assemble prompts, models, retrieval steps, memory and tools as connected nodes, test the flow in place, and publish it as an API or a chat interface. It is open source and can be self-hosted.
Why it's different
Seeing a retrieval pipeline as a diagram is genuinely clarifying, and it is a fast way to show an idea to people who will never read the code. Being open source and self-hostable means your material stays yours. The limits are the ones every visual builder has: version control and code review do not fit a canvas well, and complex logic is harder to express by wiring than by writing. Teams commonly design here and rebuild in code afterwards.
