About Move.ai
What it is
Move.ai captures human motion from ordinary video. Several phones or cameras record a performance and it produces animation data, with no motion capture suit, markers or studio involved.
Why it's different
Removing the suit and the stage is the whole point, and the cost difference is enormous: traditional capture means a facility and a day rate, while this needs cameras you may already own, so for small studios it makes motion capture possible rather than merely cheaper. The trade is precision. It is good on broad body movement and weaker on fingers, faces and fine detail, and results depend heavily on filming conditions, so cleanup remains part of the work.
How people use it
Indie game and film studios needing character animation. Sports and movement analysis. Capturing a performance without booking a studio. Test your camera setup and lighting on a simple movement before shooting anything real, because recording conditions determine the result far more than anything in the software.
