About Glean

What it is

Glean connects to the applications a company already runs - documents, chat, tickets, code, email - and provides search, an assistant and agents grounded in that content, with more than two hundred connectors, model routing and governance over how AI is used across the organisation.

Why it's different

The hard part is not search, it is permissions: an assistant that can read everything will eventually tell somebody something they were not entitled to see, and getting that right across every connected system is the engineering nobody sees. That is what is being bought. The costs are scale and honesty about inputs - it needs a large enough organisation for the problem to exist, and it can only be as good as the documentation it indexes. Over a wiki nobody maintains, it confidently retrieves stale answers.

How people use it

Large organisations where knowledge is spread across a dozen systems. Onboarding people into work that predates them. Support teams answering from internal documentation. Fix the worst of the stale documentation before rollout, because a confident answer from a three-year-old page is worse than no answer.
