What it is
Adobe Podcast is a set of browser tools for spoken audio. The one people come for is speech enhancement: you upload a recording and it returns a version that sounds as though it were recorded on better equipment in a better room.
Why it's different
The enhancement is genuinely striking on bad input and that is the whole appeal, but it is a re-synthesis rather than a clean-up. It can flatten the character of a voice, and on music or heavy background it produces artefacts. It works from a browser with no installation, which makes it far easier to reach for than a full audio editor, and there is a usable free allowance.
How people use it
Rescuing an interview recorded on a phone or a laptop microphone. Cleaning up a remote guest who had no headset. Making rough voice material usable for a podcast or a video. Always keep the original: when the processing goes wrong it goes wrong in a way you cannot undo, and for a decent recording the enhanced version is sometimes worse.
