About Wispr Flow
What it is
Wispr Flow is voice dictation that runs system-wide on Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android. You hold a key, speak, and it types into whatever app has focus. The distinguishing part is that it edits while it transcribes: filler words, restarts and the sentence you abandoned halfway do not reach the page.
Why it's different
Ordinary dictation gives you exactly what you said, which is why most people stop using it - spoken English looks wrong written down. Cleaning it up is the entire product, and it is the reason this one tends to stick where earlier ones did not. The trade is that it is interpreting rather than transcribing, so it will occasionally tidy away something you meant, and it is a paid subscription after a free allowance rather than a system feature.
How people use it
Long messages, email and documents written faster than typing. Notes while your hands are busy. Anyone who thinks faster than they type, or types in pain. Read back anything that matters before sending, because the cleanup is a rewrite and rewrites change meaning.
