About Pixelcut
What it is
Pixelcut is a photo editor built around selling: background removal, cleanup, upscaling, and generating product shots and short video ads from a photo you already have. It runs in the browser and as a mobile app, with an API for doing the same at volume.
Why it's different
It is scoped for one job, which is why it is faster than a general editor for that job: the background removal is genuinely good and the templates assume you are making a listing, not a poster. What it is not is a design tool with room to grow into - type control, layout and anything off the template path are thin, and the generated shots have the slightly plastic quality that generated product photography still has. It is a listing pipeline, not a studio.
How people use it
Marketplace and shop listings. Consistent product imagery without a photographer. Quick social ads from existing photos. Shoot the original on a plain background anyway, because removal is near-perfect on clean edges and visibly wrong on hair, glass and mesh.
