About Adobe Firefly
What it is
Firefly is Adobe's image generation family. It works as its own website and also inside Photoshop and other Adobe applications, where it powers features such as generative fill, extending an image beyond its original edges and removing objects.
Why it's different
Adobe trained it on licensed and public-domain material and offers business customers indemnification, which is why cautious organisations pick it over models with murkier training data. That legal comfort is its main advantage rather than raw image quality, where it is respectable but not the leader. Its real strength is being inside Photoshop: editing part of an existing image is far more useful to most working designers than generating a new one.
How people use it
Extending a photograph to fit a different crop. Removing an object and filling the gap convincingly. Producing imagery for commercial work where provenance has to be defensible. Existing Adobe subscribers, since it is already included. Generation consumes credits, so heavy use has a limit even on a paid plan.
