About Ideogram
What it is
Ideogram generates images from written descriptions, with a particular focus on rendering text correctly inside the image. You describe the scene and the words you want to appear, and it produces versions you can refine or edit.
Why it's different
Legible text is the one thing image generators have historically been bad at, and this is the one that mostly gets it right, which makes it the obvious choice for anything with a word in it. Outside that speciality it is competent rather than exceptional, and for purely pictorial work others produce a more striking image. Longer phrases still come out wrong often enough that you should expect to generate several.
How people use it
Posters, logos, mock signage, book covers and social graphics where wording is part of the picture. Mock-ups of packaging. Quick concepts to hand to a designer. Check the spelling in the output every time, because a near-miss is easy to skim past, and think before using generated text on anything resembling a real brand.
