What it is
Mem is a notes application that organises itself. Rather than asking you to file things into folders or tag them, it links related notes automatically and surfaces relevant ones as you write, with search across everything you have captured.
Why it's different
Removing the filing is the pitch, and it addresses the real reason most note systems fail: people capture willingly and organise never, so the notes become a pile. Automatic connection is a sensible answer to that. The limitation is that you give up control of structure, and when its judgement about what is related does not match yours there is little you can do. It is paid, in a category where the free tools are strong.
How people use it
People who capture constantly and never file. Meeting and call notes that must be findable later. Writing that draws on things you noted months ago. Test it on a few months of real notes rather than from a clean start, because automatic organisation only shows its worth at the volume where manual filing has already failed.
