About Julius AI
What it is
Julius is a chat interface for analysing data. You upload a spreadsheet or a CSV and ask questions in plain English, and it writes and runs code to answer them, returning tables and charts along with the code it used.
Why it's different
It shows its working, which is what separates a usable analysis tool from a plausible-sounding one: you can read the code it ran and check the question it actually answered. It is much faster than writing the analysis yourself for exploratory questions. It is still a model interpreting an ambiguous request, so it will occasionally answer a subtly different question with complete confidence, and it is not a substitute for an analyst on anything that matters.
How people use it
First look at an unfamiliar dataset. Charts for a report without opening a notebook. Checking a hunch before asking someone to do it properly. Cleaning and reshaping messy spreadsheet exports. Read the generated code for anything you will act on, and be careful about uploading data you do not have the right to send elsewhere.
