About Granola
What it is
Granola takes meeting notes on a Mac without joining the call as a participant. It listens through the computer's own audio, combines what was said with the rough notes you type yourself, and produces a cleaned-up version afterwards.
Why it's different
Not joining as a bot is the entire design and it is a real distinction: no visible participant appears, nothing announces itself to a client, and there is no awkward moment explaining it. Combining your own typed notes with the transcript also produces better summaries than either alone, because your notes reveal what actually mattered to you. It is Mac-only, and the absence of a visible bot does not remove the obligation to tell people they are being recorded.
