About Fireflies.ai
What it is
Fireflies joins meetings across the main platforms, records and transcribes them, produces summaries and action items, and makes the whole archive searchable so you can find where something was discussed.
Why it's different
The searchable archive is the argument rather than the per-meeting notes. Any notetaker summarises a call, but searching across a year of conversations for where a commitment was made is a different capability, and it is the one teams come to rely on. That archive is also the risk, because it becomes a large store of recorded conversations subject to data requests and to whatever retention obligations you have. Decide the retention policy before it accumulates rather than afterwards.
How people use it
Teams needing a searchable record of decisions. Sales and customer calls feeding a CRM. Catching up on a meeting you missed. Set a retention period from the outset and tell participants about it, because an unbounded archive of recorded conversations is a liability that grows quietly.
