What it is
AIVA composes instrumental music for soundtracks. You choose a style, mood and length and it generates a piece, which you can then edit at the level of individual tracks and export as audio or as a score.
Why it's different
Giving you the underlying parts rather than only a finished mix is what separates it from the prompt-to-song tools, and it matters for scoring: a cue usually needs shortening, re-pitching or an instrument removed to fit a scene, which is impossible with a flat audio file. The licensing is the thing to check carefully, because what you may do commercially depends on the tier and it is the most common misunderstanding. Its output is competent library music rather than distinctive.
