About Readwise Reader
What it is
Readwise Reader is a reading application for everything you mean to read later: articles, newsletters, PDFs, ebooks and videos. It supports highlighting, notes and AI questions about a document, and feeds highlights into a review system.
Why it's different
Handling every format in one place is the practical advantage, because the alternative is articles in one app, PDFs in another and newsletters lost in email. The highlight review is what makes it more than storage, resurfacing what you marked so it is not written once and never seen again. It is a paid subscription, and the honest risk is the one every read-later tool carries: becoming an expensive archive of things you never read.
How people use it
Keeping articles, papers and newsletters in one reading queue. Highlighting across formats into one system. Reviewing what you read months later. Watch whether you are reading or hoarding after the first month, because the failure mode of this category is a very tidy backlog that grows for ever.
