About Uizard

What it is

Uizard turns rough input into editable interface designs. It generates screens from a text description, converts a hand-drawn wireframe photographed on paper into a digital design, and can take a screenshot and produce an editable version of it.

Why it's different

Scanning a paper sketch is the trick worth having, because the useful part of early design happens on paper and moving it into a tool is the dull step that stops people bothering. It is built for people who are not designers, which is both the appeal and the ceiling: output is generic, and a professional will work faster in the tools they already know. It was acquired by Miro, which is worth checking on if you are choosing it for the long term.

How people use it

Turning a whiteboard or paper sketch into something shareable. Non-designers communicating an interface idea. Early concepts before a designer is involved. Quick clickable prototypes for testing a flow. Use it to reach a conversation rather than a specification, because the value here is speed and not the fidelity of the result.
