About Podcastle
What it is
Podcastle is a browser studio for recording and editing spoken audio. It records remote guests, cleans up the sound, transcribes the conversation, allows editing by text, and can generate a synthetic voice for patching a line.
Why it's different
It puts recording, editing and publishing in one browser tab, which is the appeal for someone making a show alone who does not want three separate tools. The trade is depth: for serious multi-track work it is behind dedicated software, and its remote recording is less robust than tools built specifically to survive a guest's bad connection. For a solo show or an interview series it is usually enough, and a guest has nothing to install.
How people use it
Solo podcasts and interview shows. Recording a remote guest without asking them to set anything up. Editing an episode by deleting text. Producing a transcript alongside the audio. Record a short test with every guest and keep a local backup where you can, because a browser tab is the single point of failure in any remote recording.
