About Draftbit
What it is
Draftbit builds native iOS, Android and web apps through a drag-and-drop editor with a live preview, backed by React Native. It can generate screens with AI agents using your own Claude or OpenAI keys, connects to any backend, and the full code can be imported, edited and exported rather than locked in.
Why it's different
Exporting real code is the part that matters. Most visual app builders are a bet that you will never need to leave, and the day you do the project restarts; here the output is a React Native codebase somebody can take over. Bringing your own model keys is the same idea applied to cost. The catch is the usual one for visual builders: you still have to understand the platform you are shipping to, and complex logic is quicker to type than to assemble.
How people use it
Getting an app idea in front of users before committing an engineering team. Internal mobile tools. Front ends over an API that already exists. Decide early whether you will ever export, because a project built assuming you never will is the one that hurts to move.
